Oona Edmands, LCSW
Oona received her B.A. in Psychology and Dance/Movement Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and her Master of Social Work degree from the University at Albany, followed by a two-year post-graduate residency.
Oona works extensively with individuals, couples and families and has completed training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), an important new treatment for trauma. She has also worked as a counselor/case manager in an adolescent girls’ shelter and with individuals suffering from chronic mental illness
Oona is a certified meditation instructor and has taught mindfulness meditation for 15 years. She is also a member of Samaritan’s Project PASS staff, and practices in several local schools providing family therapy for students in danger of failing school.
