Jenness Clairmont, LCSW-R, LMFT

Jenness Clairmont received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany shortly thereafter obtaining her Masters degree in Social Work from SUNY Albany.

Following completion of a post-graduate residency in psychotherapy she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her psychotherapeutic work has focused on individuals, couples and families. She has areas of expertise in working with individuals struggling with anxiety and mood disorders.

Jenness is committed to professional development in the field of mental health and
directs a training program for the center that consists of both graduate internship and a post-graduate residency program. She works with individuals new to the field to familiarize them with the major models of therapy and to hone their own personal philosophical assumptions and pragmatic applications in providing growth-oriented psychotherapy. She is an adjunct faculty at the Sage Graduate School, where she teaches family therapy to students completing their degrees in mental health counseling.


Jenness is the Public Relations Coordinator for Samaritan Counseling, as well as the Albany County Site Director. She provides management and administrative support to the center in these roles. She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the National Association of Social Work, and is an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor and Past Legislative Chair for the NYAMFT, Past President-Elect for the Albany/Hudson Chapter of NYAMFT (2008-2010.)
