Training
|
Internship Interns at Samaritan will provide psychotherapeutic services to various client populations under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. Services are provided to individuals, families, couples and groups. Interns will obtain training in the implementation of both long and short-term treatment models, as well as occasional use of crisis intervention techniques. Students will be addressing issues including, but not limited to mental health; substance and alcohol abuse; trauma; bereavement and disability. Interns will be responsible for client intake, clinical assessment, and development of treatment plans, necessary referral and termination. They will attend individual and group supervision on a weekly basis, consisting of case presentation, clinical process and awareness of different treatment modalities.
