Jenness Clairmont, LCSW LMFT

Jenness Clairmont received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology State University of New York at Albany shortly thereafter obtaining her Masters degree in Social Work from SUNY Albany. During that time she worked as an elementary school social worker in Troy, NY and at the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Capital Region, Inc.

She also expanded her interests in both women’s health and domestic violence through her work at the Equinox Domestic Violence Shelter and Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood.

Following completion of a post-graduate residency in psychotherapy she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has areas of expertise in working with individuals struggling with anxiety and mood disorders, in addition to her work with couples and families.

Jenness is the Director of Training for the center and also provides educational services in the form of clinical supervision, workshops for mental health professionals, academic programs as well as other community agencies. She is the PR Coordinator for Samaritan Counseling Center of the Capital Region, as well as the Albany County Site Director.

She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor candidate. Jenness has served as the Legislative Committee Chair and is currently the President-Elect for the Albany/Hudson Chapter of NYAMFT.
