Students at risk for academic failure often face a bleak future, with less education and fewer opportunities. Yet resources needed to assist children and adolescents with emotional or behavioral issues are limited or unavailable. Project PASS is a counseling program serving students at risk of failing school. Working Together Project PASS emphasizes the importance of using both the family and the school as resources to alleviate emotional and behavioral issues for each student. Working with the student, his or her family and school personnel when necessary, Samaritan therapists establish therapeutic goals aimed at meeting grade level requirements. Services are held either at school or at a Samaritan Counseling Center office. Project PASS therapists are also available for school staffing, CSE meetings, and consultation with school personnel. Service Providers Counseling and consultation services are provided by licensed staff therapists with additional training in family therapy. Clinical Staff is specially trained to meet the needs of children and adolescents struggling with divorce, blended families, eating disorders and self-esteem issues. Service Costs Some medical insurances cover the cost of family therapy. Otherwise an adjusted fee can be negotiated with the individual therapist. Confidentiality The client’s relationship to the therapist and the center is a private matter. All information is kept confidential.
