A Psychoanalytic Critique with Russell Denea, MD, Psychiatrist/Psychoanalyst

A workshop for area mental health professionals

HBO has allowed us to be voyeurs into the lives of a therapist, four of his patients, and a therapist’s supervisor. The show contains valuable reminders of what is means to be human, and the complexities of
intimate relationships.

portrayal of psychology?

More Than One Way to be Smart:
Emotionally Intelligent Leadership

Wednesday, May 7, 2008 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

When we think about “intelligence” we usually think about brainpower and IQ. But it’s much more than that – intelligence includes the ability to perceive and respond to our own and others’ emotions with clarity and sensitivity.

Emotional Intelligence enhances all relationships in our lives, including those with co-pastors, lay leaders, congregants, spouses and friends. The emotionally intelligent leader can be of service to others in a much more effective way.

The good news is these abilities can be learned and developed, resulting in what Daniel Goleman calls “Resonant Leadership.”

Pastors and Lay Leaders alike will not want to miss this informative course as participants will learn:

  • How Emotional Intelligence and leadership relate
  • What “Resonant Leadership” is
  • How to become a Resonant Leader
  • How to recognize your unique leadership style
  • How to work with the strengths and weaknesses of your leadership style

Instructors: Rev. Dr. David Olsen, Ph.D., CSW-R, BCD

Cost: $60 or $50 with early registration by April 9, 2008. Lunch is included.

Location: Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church 2291 Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY 12084

Please call CRTC to register (518) 462-2470. Online registration is also available at the CRTC website.
